JHS pedals, I need to try some of these out. Specifically the Double Barrel OD and some of those buffers. They also have this feedback looper that I want to mess around with, I can only imagine the insane sounds that this little box can produce. Like a cross between a baboon in heat and a ticked off banshee. It's pretty crazy how the boutique pedal scene has blown up, much like the amp scene. Builders are finding ways to really utilize the pedals of old and update them, or simply use the pedal as a platform to create something totally new.
The Double Barrel interests me simply because I love stacked pedals. It's simply 2 pedals in 1, but JHS has a sweet feature that lets you decide which order you'd like their "Morning Glory" (left) or TS808 variant (right) to go first.
The mini-bomb clean boost is also very interesting. Put that in front of the Double Barrel and watch for things to heat up a bit. Plus, the small footprint is great on tight boards.
But there is one standard I live by, one cannot have enough pedals. This is why companies like Line 6, Digitech, Boss...have survived. The age of the stompbox will never die. Want to find the easiest way to spice up your tone or sound? Stompbox it. Everyone has some sort of Boss pedal, but you will find more and more these days boutique pedals on a serious board.
