Dishan Abrahams, bassist for Kylie has been sporting our gear for a while. He has been a wrecking force holding down the low end. Here he is showing off his MONO gear!
As an exhibitor at NAMM, we've always got to get there a few days early to do some setup. No morning is started without a great breakfast, and the MONO choice has always been...Denny's. This great establishment has a been a mainstay since our very first NAMM in 2007. Here is that famous Denny's photo with the super stale coffee and land o lakes cream.
We could also never forget the moment we met Page for the first time.
And of course, our very first NAMM mullet.
4 years flew by really quick, let's all savor the time we get with the mullet.
We've got TONs of responses to dish out to all the players, distributors, dealers, and musicians who came up to our booth this year. 3382 was rocking and we've got a lot of work to do to make 2011 incredible. We have no doubt that huge things are going to happen this year. We're so proud to have so many people supporting our small company, this one's for you.....
Here's a great testimony from an Australian MONOplayer:
"I bought a Mono case for my son's Fodera Monarch, an expensive, superb and collectible bass guitar. I had the Fodera hard shell case, but it was relatively heavy and uncomfortable.
He toured the USA with a conservatorium Jazz group, 14 flights! I thought that he was able to take his bass onboard, but he wasn't......it was thrown in with luggage in the cargo hold, in a mono case instead of a flight case.
I was crapping myself when I found out that they wouldn't let the bass onboard, but the bass survived without any damage whatsoever, in fact, less damage than I have seen on basses in flight cases that did international flights in the cargo hold.
It's been super crazy over here at MONO HQ. We are preparing for NAMM which is getting close. We're adding a few new things to our catalog in 2011 and we think everyone is going seriously dig the new gear. We've been all about 2011, why don't we rewind a bit.
Here are a few of our favorite things in 2010 just to recap:
1. The launch of the Civilian We were talking about doing this for a good few years. The vision of our products were entirely based upon the fact that musicians are also civilians. They/we need gear because we are on the road, and what better way than to exemplify this than to create gear for the musician who happens to be on his/her time off on the road.
2. Helmet - Seeing Eye Dog We got exclusive behind the scenes access to Helmet's latest release at Entourage Studios in Hollywood. We were stoked to hear that Page offered to let us in with video cameras rolling and everything. We were with them their first week of recording and got a bunch of snippets of life in the studio with Helmet.
3. Meeting Johnny Marr This man is a legend. It was through fate that we got to meet him, let alone have a photoshoot with him. He was out in San Francisco with the Cribs, and a few phone calls and emails later, we're sitting with him backstage. It was a night we would never forget.
4. NYC 2010 Where we met up with Ski Beatz and the Sensei's @ Dame Dash's spot the Dojo. Daru invited us over to meet up with his crew and it was a stellar time out. DJ Clark Kent was also during that visit, that man is a legend in his own right. And hanging with the Roots is always a good thing.
4. Die Antwoord. Yes. Best thing to happen in 2010.
